Robert Jessup

Robert Dale Jessup, 80, of Rockville passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 in Union Hospital-Clinton.

 

He was the son of Ernest Jessup and Mary M. Lambert Jessup, born November 21, 1932. He graduated from Rockville High School in 1951. He worked for Allison Division of General Motors (1951-1953).  He was an Army Veteran serving 1953 -1955 in the Korean War. He had worked for Skelgas Co., Indiana Dept. of Corrections and was the owner of the
Pastime Cafe in Rockville for many years.  Bob was a member of American Legion #48, VFW 1752, and Elks Lodge 2471, all in Rockville.  He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Willis Jessup, one daughter, Beth (Bob) Colcord of Pendleton, IN., three step-daughters, Cheryl Overpeck of Linton, IN., Anita (Steve) Gerrish and Roxanne (Bert) Jones all of Crawfordsville, IN., one step-son Larry (Cathy) Willis of Clinton, IN. Eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He also dearly loved his dog, Jess.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mildred Swaim and two brothers, Max Jessup and Leon Jessup.
Military Graveside Service will be Monday at 2PM, February 18, in the Memory Garden Cemetery-Rockville. Pastor Gene Walls will officiate, Parke County Veterans Organizations are conducting Military Services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parke County Food Pantry.
