Joan B. Rivers, 81, of Indianapolis died March 28, 2015, at I.U. Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

She was born Nov. 29, 1933, at Rockville, to Hennis and Marjorie Kent Britton.

She graduated from Rockville High School in 1951. She worked in the auditing department at Sears in Indianapolis and worked at Martin Cleaners previously in Rockville.

She married Merrill D. Rivers in 1954. He passed away in 2012.

Survivors include son Jon Rivers of Lafayette; grandson Kevin Rivers of Greenwood; granddaughter Melanie Wilson of Indianapolis; great-granddaughter Adri Wilson; sisters, Sue Harpold  of Russellville, Nancy Allee of Bloomingdale and Katie Hill (William) of Rockville; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John and Phil Britton; and great-grandson Micah.

A graveside memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 at Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville.
