Bill was one of my 3 older brothers. Even though he was 10 years older than me I loved to tag along after him. My mom said she thought she would never break me from taking the bottle because he would keep an empty one hidden and would fill it up for me when I cried for it. I remember thinking of him as my hero when he was Mr. Football. Bill loved to talk and tell jokes. He was an avid hunter and had a scheme for every situation. Bill had lived in Parker, CO for many years. He passed away way too young. In May of 2003 Bill lost his battle with cancer, leaving behind his wife, 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren. I will always miss him. ml

Bill was one of my buddies during school. We had lots of adventures together, he was always ready to go, whether hunting, playing football, or just sitting on the west side of the square and shooting the breeze. I didn't know that Bill had passed away until yesterday (May 20, 2009)when I discovered this website, but I had really been looking forward to visiting with Bill at the upcoming reunion. Our last conversation had involved Bill asking me to come back for an earlier reunion which I just couldn't make, and I had to tell him that I couldn't be there. I hope he forgives me for not seeing him there, God knows I wish I could see him now. Joe Hopkins ('58)

I REMEMBER BILL MOSTLY IN GRADE SCHOOL. HE WORE BIB OVERALLS A LOT. ONE FRIDAY AFTERNOON WE ALWAYS SHARED STORIES IN GRADE SCHOOL IN SIXTH GRADE. IT WAS BILLS TURN TO SHARE A STORY. HE STARTED OUT BY SAYING, ON TOP OF OLD SMOKY, ALL COVERED WITH XXXX AND THATS AS FAR AS BILL GOT WITH HIS STORY. THE CLASS JUST LAUGHED OUR HEADS OFF AND THE TEACHER TOLD BILL TO STAY AFTER CLASS. NEVER DID HEAR JUST HOW THAT CAME OUT. ANYWAY, THAT ENDED THE STORY TELLING ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
