Werner Soltermann

Werner Warren Soltermann III, 69, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, November 17, at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. He was born on June 19, 1950, in Alton, Illinois to Werner Warren Soltermann Jr. and Dolores (Kortkamp) Hill. He married Candace Britton on October 25, 1986.

Warren is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Candy Soltermann of Terre Haute; son, Toby Soltermann and wife Tonya; daughters, Michelle Soltermann and Roberta Soltermann; sister, Sandy O’Neal and husband, Jerry; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark Britton and wife Rachel, Terry Britton, Mitzi Passmore and husband David, Sherry Crowder and husband Robert, Bryan John Britton, and Brett Britton and wife Danyell; special family, JR and Jess Cooper and their children Kailee and Kam; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Bill Hill; and a son, John David Soltermann.

Warren loved to play golf. A veteran of the United States Army, he served as Past Commander of the Rockville American Legion and was a member of the Rosedale American Legion. He was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears fan. Most of all, Warren enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends. He was loved by so many people and will be truly missed.

Per his wishes, cremation was chosen. Warren will be laid to rest during the spring in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Wallace, Indiana. Mattox-Wood Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mattox-wood.com
