ROCKVILLE-Robert R. Simmons, 66, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 in residence.  He was a retired security supervisor for Premiere Boxboard (Inland Container) in Newport.  
He was born April 7, 1951 in Clinton, Indiana to the late Robert L. Simmons and Patricia D. Stevens Simmons. 

Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Lutes of Montezuma; two brothers, T.J. Simmons of Havelock, North Carolina and John Stevens, II, of California; two sisters, Roxanne Burton and Pamela Simmons of New Bern, North Carolina; nephew, John Stevens, III, West Terre Haute; two grandsons. 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Simmons and sister, Lenore Simmons. 

He was a 1969 graduate of Rockville High School. He was employed by Smitty’s Circle Inn 66 Service Station, Rockville Trash Removal and in the Coal mining industry. He spent several years in security while living in California and participated in security and loss prevention training with he United States Marine Corps. 

There will be no services.  Arrangements entrusted to the care of Gooch Funeral Home, Rockville.
