Virginia Elaine Garrett, 59, of Terre Haute, died Oct.
28, 2011, at Union Hospital.

Born Aug. 7, 1952, in Clinton, she was the daughter of
William Wesley Garrett and Barbara V. Brown Garrett.

A 1970 graduate of Rockville High School, she enlisted
in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1970 to 1973.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew,
Jeremy Poland.

Survivors include a daughter, Mathilda Garrett of Terre
Haute; two sisters, Linda (Bill) Shorter of Rockville and
Marilyn (Steve) Poland of Bridgeton; a brother, Wesley
(Ruby) Garrett of Bloomingdale; and several nieces and
nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Butler
Funeral Home in Rockville. Visitation will be held from 10
a.m. until services. Burial will be in Memory Garden
Cemetery in Rockville with military graveside rites by Parke
County veterans' organizations.
