He attended Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received his MFA in 1979. He was a dean's appointment as the Curator of Education to the Arts and Science Center in Arkansas. He and his family traveled coast to coast designing, establishing, and managing new children's museums and galleries until settling in Pittsburg for 23 years. In 2006 he established an art studio in Parke County, Indiana where his talent for art originated. He has art exhibitions in Terre Haute, Bloomington, Indianapolis and Muncie, Indiana, Little Rock, Arkansas, Wheeling, Pennsylvania and many galleries and museums in Pennsylvania. In 1990 he established Exhibits Associates Design and Fine Arts in the arena of Installation Art, which focused upon the transformation of relatively ordinary materials and or objects into something of beauty or worth. He believed that it had something to do with his father's practice as a jeweler and watchmaker or his mother's talent as an excellent writer and dress designer. He had been indoctrinated as to the value of both materials and the qualities of refined craftsmanship. After recognition as an artist in that arena, he received commissions from the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, PPG Corp., Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art and the Jewish Community Center. He also received grants from the Mellon Foundation, Heinz Endowments and Andy Warhol Foundation for visual arts. Numerous art awards include, Port to Point Airport Competition and Alchemy 94, a view from Zenith gallery. He was inducted into the Master Artist Legacy project, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
