Lois Staggs (Whitlock)

Lois M. Whitlock, 64, of Terre Haute and Eustis, Fla. died on Nov. 23, 2009 in Florida. Born in Rosedale on June 14, 1945 she was the daughter of Olem and Nina (Morgan) Staggs. They have preceded her in death. 

She married Ronald 'Whitty' Whitlock on July 24, 1965 and he survives. 

She had been employed at the former Quaker Maid, A and P grocery at Ninth and Poplar, Shelton Hannig Construction, and as a bus driver for the Clay County School Corporation before retiring.

She and Ron loved spending the winter months in Florida and being in Indiana in the summer. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and traveling across the country with Ron. 

In addition to her husband she is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Melissa and Doug Froderman of Brazil, Stacey and Blake Churley of Lafayette, and Tracey and Keith Grassick of Clay City. She has three grandchildren, Alyssa Reyher of West Lafayette, Kyle Grassick and Jamie Grassick both of Clay City. 

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Lee officiating. For those that choose the family requests that contributions in her memory be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6415 Castle Way West Dr., Ste 114, Indianapolis, IN 46250-1939. DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Kendra Newlin Kuhn (Brady) (1963)

I was so sorry to read of the death of Lois. She always had such a nice smile and happy disposition. I never heard her say a bad word about anyone and that is something to be proud of. She was just a very kind hearted quiet lady. I don't know any particulars, but I'm shocked that she died so long ago and we are just finding out. Shame on us. Kendra Brady

Darwin "Butch" Overpeck (1963)

I,ve known Lois all of these years and I known how she she felt about her classmates and how she would't trade anything about them. God Bless Them. Butch.
