Gerald Glen Thomas was raised in Parke County and became a custodian in the Rockville School Corporation in the mid-1950's. He also worked a small farm south of Rockville. He was a well-respected employee until he lost his battle with colon cancer.

What a nice man Glen was.We loved going to their home. And we loved having him at school. Felt almost like having a little bit of mom and dad with us during the day, even though Glen was very quiet and never "butted" into our business.
Violet was a dear person, too.
We need more parents like these.
