Mr. Huddleson was the greatest history teacher of all time!! I loved history anyway but he made it come to life and I loved his class. He encouraged me to major in history in college....good thing I didn't as the worst grades I got in college were in history!!! No reflection on Mr. Huddleson but more so on the shock of being in classes with 200 students...it took me a semester to adjust to that size difference from RHS. When Jane Akers and I graduated we gave Mr. Huddleson an engraved lighter from Lohrmans Jewelry store...don't think smoking was such a big deal in 1968. Mr. Huddleson was all business in class...of course I had to sit on the front row (imagine that)...Mr. Savio's classroom was across the hall and he would stand outside the door to history class where Mr. Huddleson could not see him and make faces at me, trying to make me laugh to get me in trouble. I loved high school and it was great teachers like Mr. Huddleson who helped shape my life.
