Mary Parke

Mary Margaret "Maureen" Golia, 61, of Kingman, died at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at her residence in rural Kingman. She was born June 8, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Joseph P. Parke and Mary E. Parke. She married Thomas Golia on Sept. 14, 1968, in Queens, N.Y. Surviving is her mother of Clinton; her husband; a daughter, Laurie Martin and husband Ira of Kingman; two sons, T.J. Golia of Veedersburg, and Richard Golia of Kingman; a brother, Joseph Parke and wife Bridget of Rockville; four sisters, Patricia Albrechtsen and husband Peter of Queens, Kathleen Melio and husband Sam of Staten Island, N.Y., Karen Parke and husband Mike of Terre Haute, and Kelley Howard and husband Robert of Middlesex, N.J.; five grandchildren, Cole, Haley, and Lexie Martin of Kingman, Andrew and Madilyn Golia of Veedersburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Michael Parke; and granddaughter, Emily Martin. She graduated from Rockville High School in 1965. She and her husband owned and operated the Blue Moon Saloon in Covington, from 1997 to 2004. Her family and grandkids were the love of her life and she enjoyed every minute she had to spend with them. She also enjoyed the time they spent camping. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 303 N. Main St., in Veedersburg, with Jay Pribble officiating. Interment is at Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Southern Care Hospice.
