Charla Frost (Beasley)

All family and friends are invited to gather at the Rockville Memory Garden Cemetery on Saturday, 5/28/2022 at 12 Noon for a brief memorial for Charlie.  Afterwards, all are invited to Lewie and Kristy Gossett's for a meal and to continue remembering the good times with Charlie. Hope to see your there.

Around 8:30 PM on Sunday, January 23, 2022, Charlie passed peacefully to join those family members who preceded her in death, her father Charles, mother Mae, and sister Lana. We were blessed to spend one more Christmas, one more New Years, and our 46th wedding anniversary together at our home with family and friends. Frost, Ike, Kim, and my sister, Cheryl, kept us moving forward while we knew that eventually the cancer was going to take her away from us. The staff from Hospice of Michigan and our West Acres family and friends helped us keep Charlie comfortable for the past few weeks. The visits from our closest friends were heart-warming and supportive. I know that Charlie appreciated the love as did I.

Those that knew Charlie well will remember her passion for auto racing and football. Her two heroes were always our sons, Ike and Frost. Both brought her so much joy and pride over the years and kept her looking forward to the next racing season, then the next football season. And then came James, and we got the chance to experience being grandparents. And then came Kim and her kids and our family expanded quickly.

When my work brought us to Michigan in 1995 by the grace of God we landed in West Acres. I cannot offer any other explanation but that He knew where we needed to be at that time in our lives. Not knowing anyone outside of work colleagues we soon found our neighbors to be the kind of people we wanted to be near. Few among us can be so lucky as to have their best friends for life just a few steps away from their front or back doors.

Sometime this spring we will have an open house to remember Charlie, the good times, and the impact that she had on many people. Eventually her earthly remains will rest back home in Indiana nearby other family members in Rockville. And when my time comes, I will anxiously join her again. Until then I will do my best to honor her by being kind, supportive, and to find the good in others as she did. She gave me something to live for each day and I will keep her memory alive in my heart forever.
